Introduction

Pokemon Academy was a gateway for many more decks, and eventually we discarded the original insert in lieu of loose items in the box. With more decks added this became hard to manage, so I created this insert.

Features

  • Stores 8 sleeved decks.
  • Coin storage area.
  • Three counter trays.
  • Lids for decks and counter trays.
  • Spare space for sundry items.

Omissions

  • Original instruction booklets could be placed atop as with the board, but no specific area has been allocated for them.

Printing

  • Each file has the recommended number of parts at the end in the formula x1 and similar.

Print what's right for you, but here's the settings I used.

  • 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height.
  • 2 vertical walls, 3 bottom layers, 5 top layers.
  • 30% lightning infill.
  • Printed in about 10hrs 17mins on a V2.4.

Print the base first, then do some test fits for the lid. Note parameter available in F3D file should you wish to alter clearance, but alternatively you can just scale XY in slicer for an easier time.

Sizing

I appreciate that this is a large print, larger even than the bed of a P1/X1C, so feel free to use your slicer to divide this up. If doing so, I suggest using the walls between sections as good division points. Most modern slicers can also add fasteners between such slices and I would encourage the use of such.

Licensing and Remixing

  • Please note the (contagious) copyleft license.
  • Fusion 360 file included for remixing, is largely parametric with important parameters starred.
  • Parameters:
    • deck_x is the width of the deck cutouts.
    • deck_y is the height of the deck cutouts.
    • deck_z is the depth of the deck cutouts.
    • lid_fitment_clearance is the XY clearance between lid and cutouts.
