Kitchen Knife Block

This is a knife block custom designed for our set of knives, new & old. I wanted something more modern than the traditional wood block. On the backside it will hold a recipe, phone, or tablet. I have included the SketchUp files so that it could be modified to fit other knives.

Current design pieces are labeled v1.1
My first design became unstable when the two largest knives were removed. I had to move the base further toward the center of gravity. I attempted to restrain the first design to two pieces and 200mm bed. Version 1.1 has many more pieces, and is a bit more "block" looking.

Back story:
My wife made a comment about not having a knife block. We have an odd assortment of knives, new & old, so any block off the shelf would be a compromise as to which knives would fit. I took a day to design this, and another day to print it out in red PETG to match the kitchen appliances. Unfortunately the top warped overnight and caused the X-axis to skip.
