I got tired of hanging the helmet over the mirrors when doing a quick stop, and then having to re-adjust the mirrors each time. So I created a thick clamp with a hinge to house a small padlock, that could be attached to the frame of the Ducati Monster, that would allow a rider to hook and secure their helmet.

The idea is to place the clamp over a suitable area of the exposed frame of the Ducati Monster, allowing a rider to hook and lock their helmet using the housed padlock.

NOTE: Im fully aware that this probably isn't the most secure method for locking a helmet to the bike, given that the filament used is at best thick durable plastic. But it is a great alternative to having to lug a helmet with you if you'd rather leave it with the bike, and not worry about it dropping or re-adjusting your mirrors.

Required parts:

  • padlock 20mm (of course you can adjust the STL design to accommodate the padlock you'd prefer).
  • paperclip (for the hinge)

Print using a strong filament, with 80% infill, using normal support at 65 degrees.
