I use solvent based glue (Weldon 16) to bond PETG. The glue is expensive, and having a glue pot become unusable because too much of the solvent has evaporated away is such a waste. The savings from buying the larger pot is offset by the fact that you can only ever use half the glue before it's a ball of rubber inside the jar.
Glue Buddy fits inside of the lid of the glue pot when the lid is open. The shape of the Glue Buddy hugs the sides of the glue syringe and squeegees excess glue off of the pen while you retract it for use. However, do not leave the glue buddy in the pot and seal it as the solvents will attack the print.
Print Glue Buddy in flex or TPU so that you can get the syringe in and out (it needs to be stretchy to get the right sqeegie action). The pen may be tight at first, but will work to a usable shape as you wear the seam down.
I printed in .2mm Quality profile for generic flex because it was faster to print .2 than it was to print .3 draft.
