I designed this to replace the plate in the arm rest of my 2000 Chevy Impala used to connect the hinge of the arm rest to the base of the center console. The original plate is designed ridiculously thin for the application and eventually the arm rest hinge tore out. This plate snaps in over top of the remnants of the old plate.
Designed with threaded M5 bolt holes just in case I needed them but It was such a tight fit that no additional screws were needed to keep it in place. It's designed to re-use the screw retains from the original plate, just pop them out of it and into this.
Do not print in PLA. I printed with Hatchbox PETG and it's survived a summer in the car in Phoenix Arizona (so external temps at or near 120 F) so that should cover most earth temps in the higher end.
I've added a DXF of the base plate I extruded from if someone cares to do their own or make one for the case where the old plate is completely removed.
