printed on another self-assembly 3D printer)
BeMeGe feed mechanism, hotend from Flyingbear Ghost 6, so I had to abandon the blower cover and draw my own (edited)

Was looking at building the Rook series of printers because I had quite a few spare 3D printing parts at home, but it wasn't until I got a set of Rook extrusions in a raffle and Fabreeko had a BF deal on a partial Rook Mk 1 kit that things really got rolling!

I made a number of mods along the way, many that are now published.
-Modified bottom tray for a SKR Pico, Pi 4B and cable channels
-Holder for using a LRS-150 instead of the BOM 200 (from my V0.2)
-Z dragchain and cable cover
-Cat toolhead (cosmetic mod only)
-Simplified front towers
-BL-touch (had this laying around and decided to incorporate it)
-Modified belt cradle to utilize the top two screws instead of the wedge

This was actually my first build where I drilled and tapped extrusions, built entirely off CAD, self sourced a significant portion of the kit, and had complete freedom over the electronics. Thank you, this was a very fun build! (edited)

Beginner here. I got printed parts from my brother for an MK2, but have some build questions. I found a build manual for the MK1, is there one for the MK2?

@codygood_3819286 there is no manual, however they are very similar so basics are the same

can i use this toolhead on a rook mk1? are they compatible?

Potentially dumb question, do i need to have a mk1 do build this printer or can i build the mk2 from scratch?

@Dodecahedron_1001112 no you can build the mk2 from scratch

@Rolohaun Great! do i need to follow the material list thats in the "details" or is there one only for from scratch versions?

Hi there, I m thinking of building this amazing project but I don't really know how to setup any of the firmware and where to find it for this printer. Could anyone help?

@CentauriCC1_3273991 please check out my youtube channel for a link to join my discord. Many builders there can help you. I also have videos on my youtube channel on how to install Klipper and such

@Rolohaun Hi Rolohaun Design, what kind of buildplate did you use for the Rook MK2 2020? I can't seem to find the build plate in the BOM only the heater and the base plate.

Just trying to view the model in onshape and on 3 different computers and 1 phone all fairly new I'm just getting a white screen with an origin dot. Other models seem to load okay as I tested by viewing "public model of the week" and these opened/rendered okay. More just checking it's rendering okay for someone else as I'm running out of test devices :(.

@Sirrob01_3201906 Yes, this problem has always existed. I even asked in the Discord community but no one gave an answer. Making it harder to build it

@IsaacDiaz_1417245 Thanks for the info, at least I'm not alone :). I ended up using freecad to view the files but I personally dont find it as user friendly but that could be just me. I'm going to give the build a go but I'll remember to try the discord if I get stuck so thanks for the reminder about discord channel.

What material do you prefer to print the parts for this project?

My first self build printer. Couldn't test so far because the PSU broke. Need to wait for replacement. But so far it looks really great
