Mount that Meshtastic repeater on a tree with this enclosure.
The insert goes into the housing from below leaving all entries weather proofed inside the protruding shroud of the outer housing.
Print with PETG and spray inside of the housing with PRF 202 to make it waterproof. Prints don't need any support material.
Cut the USB-C cable that comes with the Meshtastic starter kit and solder the USB-C part to the female part of a GX16-4 contact. Carefully remove parts of the strain-relief until you can bend the cable enough so that the RAK board fits with the usb connector attached.
Insert a reed-swich into the hole beneath the RAK board mounting. Wire the reed switch to the RAK board pads for external reset button.
Solder the USB-A part of the cable to a male GX16-4. Now you have a way of updating the software of the node without opening the enclosure.
Solder a male contact with power from the solar panel to match the red/black of the USB-cable to give the node power once mounted.
Use this tool to screw in the GX16-4 and SMA connector
