This is a very simple frame that holds a piece of thin solar film securely. It slips over the plastic lens hood of a Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens and should be a good compromise between security and ease of removal for eclipse totality. This is also a great tool to image sunspots any time. Please only use solar film designed specifically for front aperture white light solar photography. I assume no liability for damage that may occur to your camera or eyeholes. Please be safe. Always inspect your film for holes, cuts, and pinpricks before using it.
Here is a video I made that gives some tips on how to experience the upcoming solar eclipse:
Print Instructions: I just printed in PETG with 0.2mm layers. On my printer the fit is friction fit between the pieces, though you could glue them for more security. The cap bends in place over the front to protect the film.
