This is one more exploration to the “Origami frame” series. It was quite fun to design around the idea of folding.
To sum up, I tried to print flexible hinges, and use the idea of “Origami (folding)” to create 3D structure from 2D.
How to print Skadis peg without support has always been a puzzle to me. Here I propose an interesting idea that might be worth trying on other models.
Essentially, the pegs were printed parallel to the bed, and later folded to the upright position. The folding hinge appeared to be fine to support the light weight of the photo. It will be interesting to test on other holders.
Printed with PLA and 0.2 layer height. PETG might be even better suitable due to the fracture toughness.
