My Ender 5 Pro was in need of a cable chain to manage wiring with an EVA 3.0 toolhead without adding too much height to my existing enclosure. Hobo4ssassin's design is great and well tested, so I chose it as the base to design what I needed. This cable anchor is designed to center the links 80mm above the base. This was suitable for a XY gantry style of my printer.
This is the anchor for the fixed end of the cable chain that will mount to the printer's frame. Cable tie points are built in. Two model types with reverse bowden tube locations are provided for 4mm OD PTFE tubing. One for end mounting of the tube, the other for the tube mounting off the side of a frame. Model names are used to differentiate. Both models have a location to mount PTFE tube above the cable chain.
Simply make the P1P printed links with clips, snap them together, clip one end to the mounted anchor, clip to the toolhead end, add wires and cable manage.
Hardware: (varies by printer, listed for Ender 5 Pro)
(2) M3x12ish DIN 912 Screws (Mount the anchor to the frame)
(2) M3 nuts for 2020 extrusion (I used these slide in type with standard M3 nuts.)
(2-3) Zip Ties (To secure cables to the anchor)
(2) P1P Printable PTFE Links
(30) P1P Printable Chain Links- (24 Needed for E5 Pro, recommend spares)
(30) P1P Printable Chain Clips- (24 Needed for E5 Pro, recommend spares)
No “Starting Link” or “Mounted Link” from the original model needed
Printing:
I use an actively heated chamber with my printer that reaches 65C routinely. I chose ASA for my part. PLA, PETG will be suitable for open printers or even brief exposure to heat.
.4 nozzle, 0.2mm layers, 3 shells(0.4mm each) are sufficient, recommend ~30% Infill of your choice. No supports needed when printed in the above orientation.
Make sure to orient correctly. The model will import standing up, which may work with supports, but is not preferred due to supports and forces on the interlayer direction when standing.
Fusion 360 and STEP Files included, Feel free to remix.
The author remixed this model.
This remix adapts the P1P Printable cable chain for my Ender 5 Pro with an EVA 3 tool head and LDO Oribter 2.0 direct drive extruder.
