This phone stand came about after my original Print in Place credit card sized phone stand became popular. The most common request I got was to make a more robust version, which allows the phone to sit in portrait and has room below it to plug in a charging cable.
While this is a bit bigger, it's still very easily pocketable.
It prints in place, has robust hinges and 3 different placement angles.
I would highly recommend printing this in PLA and making it fairly solid. PLA tends to lend itself best for the tight tolerances required to make the hinges work.
- Please take note -
As with all of my print in place hinged designs, your printer should be fairly well calibrated, otherwise you risk fusing the parts together during printing.
I would also recommend using a 0.4mm nozzle. With a larger nozzle it is much harder to get this to print correctly.
If you are having trouble with fused hinges, slow down your print. High acceleration values on less rigid machines tend to cause problems.
