I got annoyed with having to tie and untie my electronet fence every day, so I made this!

This latch is designed to snugly hold your endposts together while also not having the annoyance of untying and tying a string every day.

If you have a hard time getting the posts close enough together, you can scale the z axis on the model to make it shorter, meaning the posts don't have to be as closely in parallel with one another.

I printed mine in galaxy black Polymaker ASA at 40% infill and 4 walls. This may be overkill, but it has a satisfying click with it is latched and should do well in keeping my goats in.

Change Log:

  • v2: Modified the geometry to allow more flex when opening. Added thumb “grips” so you don't have to press into sharp corners when releasing a pole. Rounded the sharp edges.
  • v3: Modified the geometry again to make the flex point more robust. v2 broke after a month of daily use and warming weather. Please excuse the crummy print in the cover photo, the ASA is quite wet but I didn't want to waste it.
