Note that the tolerances are relatively tight so the the filter can fit over the lens but can also be easily removed when required. Snug but not too tight a fit.

Part 1 is the mount that goes over the lens hood. The internal hole is sized to line up with the lens hood and so not encroach into any image.

Part 2 is the front ring used to hold the film. The internal hole is sized up to be close to the outer diameter of the lens hood.

Part 3 is the top cover of the two part case.

Part 4 is the bottom of the two part case.

The case its together as a snug fit but should be relatively easy to open.

The filter or its front ring is used to size up the amount of Solar Filter foil to be used (Baader BD 5.0 in my case).

I then put double sided tape on Part 1 on the ring and on to one side of Part 1 to stick the film. I gently lowered part 1 on to the film. I then trimmed around the edge to remove the excess film. I placed Part 2 sticky tape side up in to Part 3 and used this arrangement to carefully align and stick it to Part 1. Part 4 is a simple base used to complete a very simple case for the assembled filter.

This was designed as a simple set of 3D models in Tinkercad based on the typical cardboard design for a solar filter.
