Straw Splitter

This tool accommodates a single-edge razor blade inserted from the side. You can then insert a straw into the hole on the blade's sharp side and pull it out from the other end, which splits the straw into two pieces. 

I used this tool to cut paper straws in half lengthwise, then cut them into short sections to use as roofing tiles for a model of a California mission.
