[Update Dec 4, 2024] added a variant that covers the hole even without the xLCD cable or accessory cables, here.
**********
This is another variant to the LCD Cable Exit Cover model in a series of upgrades to the Original Prusa Enclosure in an effort to plug up the openings that Prusa provides for easy user upgrades.
This covers one of the few large openings that could benefit from being covered if you don't use all the options. If you are interested in plugging them up, read on, and get ready to apply some firm pressure to get this one to snap in place.
Features:
One fast and easy-to-print part, designed to print without supports.
Snap on and snap off, no need for fasteners.
Keeps the enclosure's Hexagonal design theme.
Blocks air gaps and only lets the LCD cable pass through, along with 3 options to allow accessory cables to pass through the same opening.
Accessory cables come out the right side
Accessory cables come out the left side
Accessory cables come out both sides NOTE: be careful not to pinch the accessory cables when you snap the cover into place!
Does not accidentally pop out - you have to be very intentional to remove it (see instructions in the pics attached).
Sizing:
Fits up to 3x cables that are 3mm diameter per side - tightly. Be carefulnot to pinch these cables when snapping on the cover.
Printing recommendations:
Use ABS/ASA or PETG. PLA will not survive the high enclosure temperatures (once you plug up all the openings around the enclosure.
For best results for heat retention, I suggest you download and print my other designs as well:
