A great build uses this design to set up three 18650s with solar input. Mounted in an outdoor case. Printed this in petg.

So i think meshtastic is really cool, but in reality i don't really see a use case for it. What are you guys using it for?

@Frenny it's a bit like helping found a network, there's not much there, the investment in the long run might be a bigger network to enable more communication or an evolution of the tech, for instance sending photos, etc.

LoRa technology also is used for IoT devices, so some folks do telemetry (temp, humidity, etc) of a node, or if it's a truck or car, the gps and direction data.

Fantastic design, printed great in ABS with a Klipperized Ender 3 S1. I mounted my node about 15' above ground on a mast that's strapped to a pergola post.

Printed this for a solar node. I used a different setup for the 18650's but the bracket works great!

Fantastic Battery case and mounting bracket. The mounting bracket prints without any support and the battery case has perfect sized slots to fit cheap battery protection modules you can get for 10 cents each on Aliexpress. At that cost and with this great battery holder why not protect every cell??

@deuteranom_1849761 Thats great! I never thought about putting them on the bottom, but I really just stole that design (single battery) and combined them.

Prints well.

What do you use to make the contacts on the positive and negative contacts of the batteries?

@JackHeart_1554722 I use a small strip of copper that I have from other projects, bend it through the little slots on the battery contact areas and solder all together. I have seen others use a piece of small wire with bare strands at the ends making contact with the pos/neg of the battery. I will try to get a picture of the finished product soon as I am building another at the moment.

@Gh0st I wonder if solder wick could be used as well - hmm, might have to try that if I can't find copper strip anywhere...
