Sovol SH01 Filament Dryer PTFE Grommet

The available grommets that I found did not line the entire filament path with PTFE tube so I created two options to solve this (see pictures for cross section):

• “Normal” - This was the original design that expands the PTFE lining of the filament path. It allows inserting of the PTFE tube most of the way through and has a chamfered edge on the bottom to direct filament to the PTFE tube.
• “Through” - This design allows you to insert the PTFE tube completely through the grommet, allowing for the full filament path to be PTFE lined.

Both of these models have a slow reduction of the inner diameter to allow you to press fit the PTFE tube snuggly in the opening.  I have included two versions of the “through” grommet design with slightly different final inner diameters to account for variances in PTFE tube and printer calibration.  Although designed for the SH01, this should work with any other dryers that use a 6mm thread.

I have also included a knurled nut that can be used with this model or to replace the factory nut on the SH01.

You may need to slow down layer times to get good definition in the threads.  Be careful not to over tighten the nut as the walls get fairly thin at parts.

Printed in eSun PLA+ without support and tested with Capricorn PTFE tubing.

Update 2024-03-24

Eventually had a failure with the PLA+ because the walls are very thin at points.  I reprinted with PETG and the grommets are more durable. 

Remodeled and modified the grommet to allow PTFE tube to have a deeper recess to reduce friction.
