Description

PDF

A model of UCLA made using LiDAR data from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Map: https://apps.nationalmap.gov/lidar-explorer/#/.

Includes 3* files:

  • ucla.stl: A model of the UCLA campus, up to the campus boundaries
  • ucla_v2.stl: Similar to ucla.stl, but generated using a slightly different algorithm
  • ucla_westwood.stl: A model of the UCLA campus plus Westwood

Notes:

If you're planning on printing this, I'd recommend considering a modification of the Z-axis scale. The model itself is to-scale, but to-scale is not always what looks best. My personal recommendation is 1.0-2.0x for small buildings, and 1.5x-3.0x for larger landscapes. (The rainbow print above was done in 3.0%, 3.0%, 8.0% scale).
