3D scan of a Terror-bird model from the species Paraphysornis brasiliensis. Members of the Phorusrhacidae family are commonly known under the term “Terror-birds”. Species of these apex predators could reach a height up to 3 meters! They lived mainly in South America from the early Tertiary (55 million years ago) until the late glacial period.

This model can be found in Hall 9 at the NHM Vienna.
