This OpenSCAD design allows you to print your own bed clamps in any size and stiffness you want. The clamping strength of the clamps is determined by the hinge thickness. Thicker hinges means stronger clamping. The clamps have ridges on the handles to provide good grip.
How to use the OpenSCAD file:
- Open the OpenSCAD file. OpenSCAD is fully open source, download it here: https://openscad.org/downloads.html.
- In the code (on the left), change the variables at the top to your liking.
- Press F5 to see a preview of your model.
- Press F6 to render the model (might take a minute).
- Press F7 to save your stl (or press the stl button top left, or click File → Export → Export as STL).
Print settings:
- Material: PETG (You can try other materials, but PETG's toughness makes it very suitable for this application. Don't use a brittle filament.)
- Layer height: 0.3mm (as big as you can go, for increased strength)
- Supports: none
- Infill: 100% concentric (also top and bottom), or alternatively set number of perimeters to 5
- Perimeters: set to as many as you need to not need infill
- Orientation: as set in the stl
