small cardboard box template - Create a small box from waste cardboard

This is a small template used to turn a larger box into a smaller shipping box.  This came about since I am selling stuff on eBay and needed small boxes to ship.  Instead of buying boxes from suppliers (they aren't cheap!), this allows you to take a larger cardboard box which you have lying around, mark it up, cut out the marked area, score the corners and seams, cut the top and bottom ears, glue it or tape it together and you have a 4" x 4" x 2" tall box. I have included some illustration pictures to hopefully better explain the process.  (NOTE! For this to work well it is imperative that you crush the line drawn between sides so the box will fold neatly. A capped sharpie or pen top works well for this.) Be sure to use the little tab on the side of the template to mark one end of the box to use to attach the sides of the box.  Then ignore the tab on the other three sections.

This file can be easily modified in a cad package or the slicer to make smaller or larger boxes to fit your needs.
