No re-wiring required.
Ender 7 replacement toolhead with, bowden, or direct drive extruder and Pheatus Dragonfly HIC hotend. Giving a clear view of the nozzle from above, perfect for watching the first print layer going down.
Cooling of the Hotend Heatsink is ducted so air isn't blown down onto the printed part, making it suitable for printing ABS, ASA & other materials that don't like being cooled.
Features:
Bondtech LGX Lite direct drive extruder
Pheatus Dragonfly HIC Hotend, 28mm3/s max flow (tested with 0.4mm nozzle). All-Metal Hotend with 350oc max. printing temperature.
Retains all original Ender 7 Wiring for, Heater Cartridge, Thermistor & Fans.
Important Notes:
On the carriage block bracket, remove the spring washer from centre fixing screw. See close up photo. This is to make clearance for the hotend hearter block.
On the Dragonfly spin the heater block around 180 degrees so the heater cartridge is positioned at the rear for better wire routing.
Parts to be made from ABS for heat resistance. You can print a PLA test fan body for a one use ABS print with the Dragonfly, to get your first ABS fan body, and take the necessary precautions in case of melt down of the PLA.
Do not use the Part/Nozzle Cooling Fans when printing ABS, ABS has to be kept hot during the print.
When mounting the Dragonfly take care to have the counterbores for the mounting screw heads on the front face. If you do not do this and have the counterbores for the screws on the back, when you mount the Dragonfly you will press the heater block against the carriage mounting screws and you can bend the heat break on the Dragonfly when you tighten the mounting screws.
Photos are of an earlier version. Changes to the models have been made.
The original Bondtech LGX Lite extruder has recently been superseded by the new V2 version and has a two part body in place of the original four piece. Unfortunately the V2 two part body can no longer be used with many custom mounts as Bondtech has removed the ability to sandwich mount it with the motor.
Therefore I have created this model is a replacement rear extruder housing for the new version V2 LGX Lite. The rear is cut off to make it the same depth as the original V1 with the back plate removed and thus allow it, once again, to be sandwich mounted with the motor using the many custom brackets already available.
