Do you own the Bora Wood Organizer system and disappointed that each horizontal lumber rail has no elbow to stop wood from sliding off? This project is meant to overcome this limitation and add a 90 degree elbow with latch at the end of each rail and catch any sliding wood. A quick release pin is installed to easily drop the latch and remove the desired piece of lumber without lifting it over the elbow.

Non Printed Parts:

Printed Parts

  • Bora Mount x 2 (per each level)
  • Bora Latch x 2 (per each level)

Instructions:

  1. Print the Mount's and Latches in your favorite filament. Stronger filament is preferred (PC Blend if you really want strong), but use any filament you have. The idea of this project is stop simple slides and slips of wood and not be long term load bearing of over stocked levels, etc.
  2. Attach the latch to the mount and secure/create the hinge with 1 M3x40 screw and nut.
  3. Slide the mount on the end of a horizontal lumber rail. If desired, a M3 screw and nut template is printed on the mount and you can drill thru the rail to secure it. You can also use glue/hot glue before inserting the mount over the rail and have it secured that way if you do not want to drill thru the rail.
  4. Use the quick release pin to secure and unsecure/drop the latch when needed.
  5. Enjoy!!

The Fusion 360 file is provided if you need to modify this project in any way. Dimensions are used in Fusion 360 and if you are simply looking to make the latch shorter or longer, modify the “Latch_Z” dimension.
