I could not find anything that would allow me to stand my Milwaukee M18 tools upright in my tall tool drawer using gridfinity by Zack Freedman so I came up with my own. The tools slide in snugly as to not come loose when opening and closing the drawers. I am by no means a CAD expert so feel free to modify and create your own.

I found it best to print these at a 30% infill with SLIM tree supports ONLY at critical regions. If you don't use these settings you might have a hard time removing the supports from the gridfinity profile and magnet holes. The magnet holes are designed with a very tight tolerance. You should not need any glue, just pressure fit them in and give them a light tap with a rubber mallet.

I have included the mount and gridfinity profile as separate files in case you decide you want to attach the mount to a different size gridfinity profile. The 3MF file has everything included on separate plates. I have only tested this on the following tools:

  • M18 Compact Brushless ½" Drill Driver
  • M18 Compact Brushless ¼" Hex Impact Driver
  • M18 Compact Heat Gun

I am pretty sure it will work on many others though. You might need to change to a different size gridfinity profile for your application/tool.

**NOTE: I typically remove the clip hooks that come with the tools. For most tools to fit in this adapter you will need to also remove the clip. With slight modifications you can retain the clip; you might need to go another gridfinity unit wider and/or raise the M18 mount on the plate. My drawers were not tall enough if I kept the clip but that didn't matter to me as I remove them anyway.
