These rails allow you to hang cheap open storage containers onto IKEA SKÅDIS boards. I designed the rail to fit the following boxes:
I'm sure other boxes will fit as well, just have a look at the measurements in the pictures above. Or print one (partial) rail to see if it fits. On request I can upload versions with different measurements, or you can change the STEP file yourself.
In order to insure maximum strength you need to print the rails standing upright. Only use a brim if absolutely necessary, it's a bit of a pain to get it off afterwards.
I printed these in PETG with a 0.6 mm nozzle, 0.32 mm layer height and with 3 perimeters/walls. You need to make sure that the little lip holding the boxes is solid, adjust the number of perimeters/walls accordingly if you print with a smaller nozzle.
If you print several of them standing really close together like in the picture below then you'll save a lot of printing time. On my Prusa MK4 with the above settings one rail takes 1h 54min, six rails take 6h 8min. That's ~ 1h per rail, almost half the time compared to printing only a single one.
Two of the Skadis T-Clip System - Low Profile Flush Mount Clips per rail. Download the correct version for your board (painted or unpainted) and print them lying flat on the bed. Insure that the walls are least 1.2 mm thick, adjust the number of perimeters/walls accordingly.
