Sun Shield enclosure that transforms your indoor aqara temperature, humidity and air pressure sensor into an outdoor wireless weather station.
The combination of sun shield dishes and internal cavity ensures some degree of air ventilation and avoids hot air to stagnate around the sensor. The enclosure protects the sensor from direct sunlight, wind and rain.
Parts List:
The base support includes a dove-tail interface, which can be used to add a support arm to be constrained to walls, poles, trees, etc. Example files for a bolted wall mount is provided as .iges and .step for further customisation.
The parts are assembled by means of outer and inner threads (no glue or bolts required).
About 45min clean up is needed to remove support structures used for the top and intermediate sun shield dishes (x4 parts). The dishes can be printed also without any support structure, but the surface finish won't be too aesthetically appealing despite perfectly functional.
The assembly should be installed at least 1.5m from the ground. Cold climate may deplete batteries quicker.
Designed for white PETG printed with PRUSA Mini and successfully tested in heavy rain/wind conditions.
rev_220320, an alternative to ss_top_round (ss_top_tapered_0.15mm_PETG_MINI_2h47m) is added and should ensure a better finish of the top surface. The .gcode is un-tested.
Constructive comments and returns of experience are very welcomed! Have fun!
