Description:

My Voron 2.4 uses a Nighthawk SB toolhead board. Due to the cable thickness and exit direction from the board, the loop from the board to the lower strain relief mount either needs to be bent quite tightly or have extra room to comfortably move near the back of the gantry.

This Z-chain transpose mount moves the z chain below the gantry, keeping it out of range of the cable loop. This differs from other models by placing the chain in front of the gantry beam and adding zip-tie points. This allows a very clean cable path through to my Y endstop relocation and keeps the chain from running on the A/B motor wiring.

Parts:

If you're doing an endstop relocation and rebuilding the X and Y chains for this you should have all the parts already. Numbers are for generic cable chain (max)

  • X/Y Voron cable chains (igus or generic)
  • 6x M3x5x4 (Voron standard) heat set inserts
  • 6x M3x6 flat head screws
  • 2x M5x10 button head screws
  • 2x M5 roll-in T nuts
  • 2x zip ties

Print Settings:

0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layer lines, 40% infill

Updates:

2024-02-14 - fixed heat set insert hole diameter (4.5 → 4.7 mm)
