A remix of Sam Wolfson's great Raspberry Pi Camera 3 Mount.

I've revised the models to suit the Raspberry Pi Camera 2.1 module better (the window for the camera lens is slightly smaller. As-well as this (likely due to the older camera's narrower field of view - see images) I've titled the camera up by 10 degrees to get a larger view of the build volume (for taller prints).

Designed for Voron 2.4, although would work for other 2020 extrusion.

Printed with standard Voron part settings. I used supports for the overhang on the case body (and blocked everything else), although this probably isn't totally necessary.

Print 1 version of "case_body" depending on which side you want the camera to be installed, 1 “hinge” and 1 "case_front". I've also included a Z Belt cover for either side that match the other z belt covers i'm using with a cut-out for the cable.

Included .step files if you wish to adapt.

Required hardware (same as original):

  • 1 M3x6 SCHS screw
  • 1 M3 T-nut
  • 1 M3x20 BCHS screw (longer screws and SCHS are also fine)
  • 2 M2x8 BCHS (SCHS is also fine)

Assembly (same as original):

  • Attach the hinge, T-nut, and M3x6 screw to the extrusion first. You will not be able to access the screw after the case is connected to the hinge.
  • Insert the camera board and screw on the front of the case with the M2x8 screws.
  • Align the case with the hinge and screw it together with the M3x20 screw.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Changes made:

  • Reduced window cutout size for the 2.1 raspberry camera.
  • ‘Beefed’ up the hinge wings to 2mm (I felt the original were a little small at 1mm)
  • Tilted the camera upwards by 10 degrees for a better view of the build volume
