A quick modification I made to the stock idler mount for the Y axis that helps keep the idler perfectly horizontal and aligned to the belt by using two alignment tabs on the top on bottom of the part. These take up the slack that can allow the idle to be installed slightly out of level and contributing to horizontal artifacts on prints.

Two versions are offered, one that works with the standard smooth idler and one that works with a toothed idler. I recommend the toothed idler as they are generally preferential to smooth idlers in 3D printers.

I used this idler for my printer:

Gates 2GT Idler - Filastruder

The print settings are the same as the original - 0.20mm STRUCTURAL

Recommend printing with PETG or (even better) ABS/ASA

Use in conjunction with my model for the Y axis motor mount for the best results.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Alignment tabs added to the top and bottom of the part as well as extra space added to allow for the use of a toothed idler.
