Drawer latch for wood and 8020 (4040) campervan furniture

I have all my campervan furniture done with 8020 profiles (1515 series in the US or 4040 in Europe).

Commercial latches where short for my application and wanted something easy to operate and not spending a fortune.

Designed those latches to work with a small 15mm long, 8mm diameter, 1mm spring wire that I bought on AliExpress but printing your own spring is doable too. In fact I printed a small leaf spring for testing before the metal springs came.

Latches are designed to close only pushing the drawer and lock in the aluminium profile slot.

For opening you put your finger in the hole and press the latch and pull the drawer, super easy.

I did a small routing template for the hole and some optional bezels to make it nicer too.

Printed with my Ender-3 V3 KE with 50% infill. The part named “Support/Soporte” is printed sitting on the narrow side so no supports are needed.

Thengo todos los muebles de mi furgoneta camper hechos con perfiles de aluminio 8020 (Serie 1515 en USA o 4040 en Europa)

Los cierres comerciales se me quedaban cortos para mi aplicación y quería algo sencillo de operar y no gastar un dineral.

Diseñé estos cierres para funcionar con un pequeño muelle metálico de 15mm de longitud, 8mm de diámetro e hilo de 1mm que compré en AliExpress pero también puedes imprimir tu propio muelle. De hecho yo imprimí una pequeña ballesta para probar el cierre antes de que me llegaran los muelles.

Los cierres están diseñas para cerrarse con solo empujar el cajón y encajar en la ranura del perfil de aluminio.

Para abrir pon el dedo en el agujero y presiona el cierre a la vez que tiras del cajón, muy sencillo.

Hice una plantilla para fresar el agujero y unos embellecedores opcionales para el agujero para que quedara más bonito.

Impreso con mi Ender-3 V3 KE con 50% de relleno. 

La parte llamada “Support/Soporte” está impresa apoyada en el lado estrecho para no necesitar soportes.
