Simple model of reverse bowden bottom support for 4mm PTFE tube.

Build instructions :

I build it from PETG-PTFE 10% - becouse I have it and it is black so it fits to sprite extruder well. I build standing as will be used on extruder and  with supports. Nozzle 0.4mm; Layerheigth 0.2mm

PTFE holder should be used to secure bowden entry to Sunlu dryer. This model I build from PLA with 0.8mm nozzle and 0.35 layerheight. It is a bit too coarse for such part but still looks decent and works well.

Motivation :

After installing filament dryer, I noticed that on back side of builds – especially with long straight lines I have kind of ghosting. After investigation I realized that it is caused by uneaven unloading of spool. Basically filament was pulled from spool only when printhead was traveling from right side to left. And extruder was unable to maintain constant pressure in nozzle. Maybe even pulling of filament caused some bending/ vibrating of extruder.

After identifying cause - I just had to remedy it. So I decided to build back bowden to Dryer becouse it become my main source of filament.

Conclusion :

It works like a charm - Spool unloads evenly during printjob and I could speed up external perimeters by 40% while maintaining way higher surface quality/ eaveness.

As always: no warranty but best wishes!!!
