A simple (not) case for a USB3 to SATA adapter and disk because I didn't want to pay the same price for a USB2 adapter with its own case

the old version has all the tabs on one side, which when combined with the fact that the tabs are too tall, it either creates a seam along the edge, or the tabs slide off, if you print that one, you can either file the tabs down, or not, and consider this, which is totally not an oversight, a cool way to get a tiny bit of extra protection in the form of flex, before your other heavy things inside your bag crush your SSD :)
the old version is also the version I have, I found it alright, so I didn't print the new version with the last tweaks

the new version has the tabs a bit shorter so they actually fit into the holes and has them alternating, so it actually interlocks a bit, probably doesn't help, but I think it looks cool

I recommend printing the new version, because I believe it would still have a bit of flex before touching the SSD and because it might look better(?)

about the holes and the file size of the hole'd files, I am caveman brain and duplicated the frame of the case vertically instead of just increasing the vertical size to cut the shape of the holes, I assume that to be the reason why exporting was hit-or-miss, took long and the filesize is 100kB vs 20kB + no problems on the solid ones haha

CrystalDiskMark with the adapter + an Apacer AS350X 512GB SSD :)

Print settings
I used a 0.4mm nozzle, somewhat layman-style counted with multiples of 0.4 when designing

What you need

  • 4 (or less if you're feeling quirky) screws that fit into an SSD, idk what these would be, didn't measure them
  • about 25 grams of plastic for the holes version
  • a screwdriver to screw the screws in (you can also use anything flat, or if you are godly, your fingers or other body part)
