2024-06-15 added photo showing assembly on my in progress tower lid, added tabs-round.stl

2024-06-21 added no-tabs flange for use with my upcoming rotating tower design, also added step files and my Orca Slicer 3mf file

I am making a custom dual hydroponic tower configuration using a large tub and wanted a flange mount plus an easy way to add and change a filter on the drain (to keep debris out of the tank).

I liked eroedig's flange base but wanted 2 things.  First was an easy way to replace a filter at the end.  Second was a way to route the hose in without the filter being in the way.

I printed mine using Polymaker PETG with 0.2 layer heights and 1000 perimeters to create solid pieces.  Print the filter basket with the square down.  The filter basket has an overhang inside - I used manually painted tree supports configured as on-build-plate.

The Fusion 360 file is attached BUT it does NOT include the tabs.  The “tabs” file should be overlaid on the same center point to add them.

I would print this model to verify you clearances first: https://www.printables.com/model/413553-hydra-ams-test-pieces

After that, I recommend cutting the flange and filter holder to verify your thread clearance works well before printing the whole parts.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

  • Added screw-on filter holder to the end

  • Added holes to route up the feed line past the filter
    • Holes also provide a water bypass if the filter clogs

  • Added a washer piece for the inside to more evenly secure

  • Added filets and chamfers not in the original

  • Enlarged mounting holes to take ¼-20 bolts
