This is a remix of QuadView's excellent Glock mag holder. I'm uploading an example G43X model, but the idea is to let you modify the fusion file to suit your own needs. Feel free to remix or post a make with the parameters you used to help others!
You will need a minimum of 6 measurements to generate a model:
PlateDepth | Measurement from front to back of the base plate. |
PlateWidth | Measurement from side to side of the base plate. |
PlateHeight | Measurement from top to bottom of base plate. |
Opening | Width of the mag body. This is the width of the slot. |
Angle | Angle of the base plate relative to the mag body. |
Slots | How many mags you want to store. |
To get the angle, a digital angle finder is helpful, but I've also had great luck with bubble level apps that can take relative measurements.
There are also optional properties:
Tolerance | This should be higher the less you trust your printer/calipers (default .5mm) |
PlateGap | Space between each mag (default 1mm) |
StartHeight | If you have particularly heavy mags and want to add some resistance to levering, increase this (default 12mm) |
PartitionRecess | How much to recess the partitions. This is user preference (default 3mm) |
FrontShoulder | How far past the mag body does the front shoulder go? This will set the distance of the bump stop if you are using it |
I've had good luck with gravity holding the mags in place, so have made the bump stop optional. Bump stops may not be desirable if you have multiple brands of magazine like pmag, oem, ets, etc all using different base plate dimensions. Some may not want the label, so I've also made that optional. Both features are groups that are labelled in the fusion archive and can be suppressed if you don't want either.
I've found 3 bottom layers, 4 top layers, 3 walls, and 15% infill to be plenty strong with PLA/PLA+.
I tested the model with several of my magazines and it looks like I got things constrained appropriately, but let me know if there are any fixes that are needed and I'll upload a new version!
The author remixed this model.
Remade QuadView's model from scratch with the intent to make it parametric so it can be easily modified for other mags. Tried to stick to the original design as it's quite good. I added holes sized for drywall screws and an optional label.
