Introducing the Nonagon Plant Saucer, a geometrically pleasing design that combines functionality with aesthetic appeal. This saucer features a classic terracotta style with a flat rim and precise geometries at each corner, complemented by an interesting pattern of ribs at the bottom. These ribs are not just decorative; they're engineered to promote airflow, helping to prevent stagnant moisture and ensure the health of your plants.
Update 2024-06-05: Added a showcase folder.
Optimize your plant display by pairing this saucer with the Nonagonal Flower Pot, designed to match perfectly and enhance your garden or indoor space with a cohesive look.
Finding the perfect model amidst the large number of variants has never been easier! Take a look at the detailed PDF catalog in the "Other Files" section in the “Files” tab. This catalog provides a visual overview of all the models in this project, complete with dimensions, to help you quickly find exactly what you need.
But it's more than just a visual treat; the catalog includes organized tables that let you easily compare models based on specific parameters. Once you've spotted the model that meets your criteria, just search for its filename on the project page to easily download the right file.
Adaptable to various 3D printers, this model supports nozzle sizes of 0.4mm, 0.6mm, and 0.8mm. Here my print recommendations to achieve the best results:
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Nozzle Size | 0.4mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mm |
Filament Materials | PETG recommended; PLA, ASA also suitable |
Perimeters | 2 or 3, based on your preference |
Infill | 15% |
The saucer is designed to print effectively with 0.4mm, 0.6mm, and 0.8mm nozzles, accommodating all wall thicknesses. Select a layer height appropriate for your nozzle size, and always review the sliced result before printing. Aim for the walls to be printed solely with perimeter lines, free of infill. For prints using a 0.4mm nozzle, consider increasing the number of perimeters to three or more for optimal results.
The models not only have different sizes, but also three side thicknesses. The side thickness also defines the thickness of the ribs, at the bottom of the saucer.
S17
(1.68mm): The thinnest variant is best suited for rigid filament. It is ok for smaller saucers, but definitely too weak for saucers matching pots equal or greater than 200mm in height.S20
(2.0mm): The medium thickness gives more stability and works well for soft materials like PETG. A good compromise, for medium sized indoor saucers and pots.S25
(2.5mm): My recommendation. This thickness provides excellent structural support for the sides and ribs of the saucer, even for very large prints. These prints withstand harsh outdoor conditions and heavy pots.Available in a variety of sizes, the example file name LR2412-P9-S25-H040-D260.3mf
breaks down as follows:
P9
denotes a nonagon shape.S25
indicates a side thickness of 2.5mm.H040
is the height of the saucer at 40mm.D260
is the diameter, measuring 260mm.You can find all related 3D model files under the "Files" tab, sorted into ZIP files by file format for easy access. Choose between STL, 3MF, or STEP files to suit your printing needs.
