This is a Remix “Donor Spool Holder with Bearings - Modular Design” for an amazing project "Filament Spool Switcher & Winder" Design by @MiklosKiszely_486882
After sharing the "Winder Spool Holder with Bearings" project, it was time to publish "Donor Spool Holder with Bearings" so that the project would be coherent and complete. Thanks to this modification, friction on the spool axis no longer occurs and the motor does not lose torque during rewinding. The rewind time has also been shortened and the engine speed has increased.
ATTENTION - If you want to complete this project, you must also use my other project “Spool Brake for Bambu Lab Filament Spool Switcher & Winder”. If you do not use Spool Brake, the filament will be loose after rewinding !!!
When you complete the project, please share a photo and a comment. Thank you and have a nice day.
UPDATE 17.02.2024 :
In connection with the publication of my new project "Donor Spool Frame 2 - Modular Design" I also publish the compatible "Spool Axle - For 2.5kg Spool" which is suitable for spools weighing 2.5kg and spool widths from 80mm to 105mm - The given size includes centering discs with a thickness of 2 mm
If you use "Bambu Lab - Donor Spool Frame 2 - Modular Design" - Print 1 pc of 1mm and 3mm washer. The 3mm washer is to be mounted on the side where there is one bearing. This is due to the thicker frame - Shown in the photo gallery
UPDATE 23.02.2024 :
I added separate catalogs for Original Donor Spool Frame by Miklos Kiszely & Remix and For Donor Spool Frame 2 - Modular Design. Now you can download the selected version for a given project faster and easier
UPDATE 27.02.2024 :
In connection with the publication of an update to the new design "Donor Spool Frame 2 - Modular Design" I also publish the compatible "Spool Axle - For 3kg Spool" which is suitable for spools weighing 3kg and spool widths to 130mm - The given size includes centering discs with a thickness of 2 mm
UPDATE 29.05.2024 :
At the request of two people, I added a version with an M4 screws
Information for Donor Spool Holder with Bearings :
Designed specifically for my other project “Motor Drive for Stand - Auto-Stop Function for Bambu Lab Filament Spool Switcher & Winder”
This modification eliminates 100% of the friction on the spool axis and additionally the engine operates at the same rotational speed from the beginning to the very end of rewinding. Previously, the engine lost rpm with the greater weight of the spool
Compatible with spools with external dimensions from 50mm to 76mm - The given size includes centering discs with a thickness of 2 mm
Be sure to use 6 pcs. Heat Threaded Insert M3 - This will allow you to perfectly center all the elements of the Winder Spool Holder
Use peel-off thread adhesive during assembly - This will prevent self-loosening of the screws caused by rotation and vibration (DO NOT USE BLUE LOCTITE GLUE - I have already received several messages from users that it is too weak and the screws are loosening)
The Donor Spool Holder has a different structure than the original model. When tightening the Winder Spool Holder, use the screws in the Spool Axle.stl and Axle Lock.stl as a handle - Do not tighten by using Sleeve for Triple Bearing - This may cause the M3 screw to become loose
The Axle Lock.stl file contains the writing Lock and Unlock and directional arrows. If you do not color them in the slicer, they will not be printed.
Please read the documentation and photos below that show the correct installation of the Winder Spool Holder
Thread Locker Glue - Blue or Red Color - I tested the Winder Spool Holder with Bearings from the very beginning with thread glue. I don't know how it will behave without glue. IF YOU DON'T USE THREAD GLUE AND THE SCREWS COME LOOSE. DON'T BLAME ME !!! - (DO NOT USE BLUE LOCTITE GLUE - I have already received several messages from users that it is too weak and the screws are loosening)

How To Print ? :
Material : ABS, ASA, PETG
Layer Height : 0.2mm
Speed : All Max 60 for Spool Axle.stl and Axle Lock.stl - In this case, the precision of printing matters Rest : Any
Infill : 100% (Tip - if you want to save filament, print the lower part of the Spool Axle.stl and Axle Lock.stl with 20% infill - and print everything above with 100% infill)
Wall Loops : 4
Bottom Layers : 4
Top Layers : 4
Support : Yes only for M4 version and files : Sleeve for Single Bearing - M4.stl, Sleeve for Triple Bearing - M4.stl - - Shown in Photo Gallery
Brim : No
Brim Auto : No (Be sure to disable Brim Auto. When printing in color Axle Lock.stl with Brim Auto on, it may cause a problem on the first layer)
I receive a lot of messages asking what to print for a complete project. It is complicated for many people. I had a problem with that myself. So I decided to prepare a short instruction.
