Nothing wrong with the R2 Version, but the R3 version has a nut for your Nozzle Socket to make it far easier to open and close.

----------------------------------------------------

So after a few years of reprinting my Desiccant Spool Holders (which I did quite some time ago in Rhino as a hard solids model) the many hour print times were getting old and it really had to do with how it was originally modeled.

I've since learned a lot of stuff when designing for print, as my prior cad background was not taking FDM's actual processes into account.   Little tricks like working in single wall thicknesses and multiples of layer heights add up big time when it comes time to slice and print them.

So rather than re-cad the whole thing in Rhino with that stuff, I did this one up in Fusion360 as the parametric nature of the engine makes it more suitable for this sort of thing.

I shaved almost 2 hours off the print time simply by using multiples of wall thicknesses in the design as the slicer wasn't having to try to address a dimension that was non perimeter divisible which resulted in several thousand little tiny infills.   Further optimizations knocked down the print time in other areas.

Further (as I am tending to do these days) everything is not just parametric in the design but everything is formula driven based of other “core” parameters.    As a result I can change the layer height, the nozzle size, the perimeter count and the entire model will update as everything is not just constrained, but constrained to a fully defined parameter.

So as a result of that, if you have a goofy spool size with an odd hub dimension or something along those lines, lemme know and I can cut you a variant with literally zero re-cad work involved.   I've put the parameter list in the photos for the project for reference.
