This is a cable mount and holder for the Ender 3 with a direct drive extruder. The mount screws into the old Bowden extruder motor mounting plate. A small ball bearing is embedded into the mount and a capped shaft attaches the mount to the cable holder. This allows the cable holder to swivel as the hot-end moves around. This also keeps the hot-end and extruder motor cables out of the way and in line with the electronics. I printed the parts in PLA with 30% infill. A few bits of hardware that I used to assemble this:
One ½ inch outer diameter, ¼ inch inner diameter, 3/16 inch wide ball bearing
Four 10mm M3 screws
Five M3 lock washers
Four M3 nuts
One M3 4mm threaded insert
One 6mm M3 screw
2 zip ties
The M3 threaded insert gets sunk into the hole in the shaft. The bearing gets pressed into the hole in the base. Then the shaft gets pressed through the center of the bearing with the capped end pointed down. Then I put an M3 lock washer in the hole of the anchor and the 6mm M3 screw through that into the shaft. The four 10mm M3 screws, lock washers and nuts secure the base to the old extruder motor mounting plate.
