This is a tiny soldering iron stand in the form of a 1x1 2u Gridfinity block. There is space for a small soldering sponge. The whole can be collapsed and other Gridfinity blocks/lids can be places on the stand.

The part that hold the soldering iron is made from bent wire with a diameter of 1.5mm. The wire can either be placed centered or offset for better access to the sponge. The wire should preferably be made out of iron/steel, but copper wire is ok too (that is what I use).

I tested the heat resistance by placing a hot iron (as shown on picture) on the copper wire for 20 minutes. Best not to go on vacation with the soldering iron on tho.
