Introduction

This box uses the Parametric Rugged Box as a base to hold two trays to hold unto 7 assembled heater blocks with socks, thermistor and heater, 6 loose silicone socks, 35 E3D v6 nozzles and 7 loose Prusa Nextruder nozzles.  The color codes in the lid and the top tray use short pieces of filament snapped into keystone shaped pockets to hold them in place.

Printing

The box and latches were printed in Prusament PETG, the trays were VOXEL PLA.  Used IS print mode with a 0.2mm Speed layer height on MK4 printer.  The Top Tray has 4 recesses to align the Tray Spacers.

Assembly

Hardware

The hinge and latches are attached with (6) M3 x 30mm screws

Top Tray Spacers

The Tray Spacers are numbered to position them in the recesses position. They should be interchangeable but I numbered them to be safe.  A drop of CA glue was used to hold them in place.

Colored Filament Strips

Short strands of filament were cut to fit in keystone shaped grooves for the legend in the lid and the top tray.  The strands were PLA and can be pushed in place using the flat side of a spatula.  Make sure the backside is well supported so the lid or tray is damaged.  It takes a considerable amount of force to set the strands, about 20#/10kg and once they are in a tool, like a pointed x-acto knife is needed to remove them.

REV 1 (December 5, 2024): Added an Optional Top Tray that stores only the Nextruder Nozzles (or Adapters).  Includes a spacer for the lid to hold the Nozzles in place when the lid is closed.  It should be glued inside the lid 5mm to the left of the raised legend in the box (see photo).  Note that once this spacer is in position the standard E3D/Nextruder top tray will no longer fit inside a closed box with E3D nozzles in the tray.

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

I couldn't find a nozzle storage box that had all the features I was looking for so I put one together using the Parametric Rugged box as a starting point.
