Just wanted a quick easy bracket to make use of the built in runout sensor port on the side of the SV06 extruder.  The led lights up when you have a filament inserted.

Easy DIY project.

Printing:

0.2 layer height. No Supports necessary. If you want to get fancy, use PETG and 5 perimeters so it's extra strong and heat resistant.

Parts:

2 x M3x8 screws

1 x JST GH 3P plug with wires like this one.

1 x Generic Filament runout sensor like this one.

Instructions:

  1.  Print the part and remote the built-in supports on the tabs.
  2. Solder the wires from the JST connector to the filament sensor.  Use the order in the picture below.  *If you are a crimping superhero, you can crimp the filament sensor side of the connector with a standard JST connector.  I just went with soldering in the end…
  3. Twist the wires if you want them to stay neat and then plug connecter into the port on the side of the extruder.
  4. Unscrew the factory screws and attach the bracket with the M3x8 screws.  This is a good time to capture the wire in the wire guides on the bracket.
  5. Pop the filament sensor in place.  There are internal dimples that hold it in place.  It is useful to be able to pop it in and out when you run out of filament.
  6. Enable the filament runout sensor in the menu on the printer.  If you don't see it, go to the Sovol website and get the latest firmware with filament sensor support.

Be happy that it pauses your print and waits for you to add a new roll of filament when your large print is at %95 percent complete.

Hope someone finds it useful and thanks for the likes and downloads!
