This is an AirTag holder I designed for a dog collar. You'll unfortunately need some basic sewing skills to attach it, but I think this is the most durable and streamlined way to accomplish this. That being said, it's quite easy if you have a needle and thread. The wings on the side are 21.5 mm wide (hole CL to hole CL is 15.0 mm), so you'll probably want a collar at least that wide for it.
Edit 30SEP24: My dog's new collar is made of biothane material, so it doesn't lend itself to sewing as well as standard nylon. Added a design which uses a 1/8" diameter by ¼" grip blind rivets (both rivet designs are the same, but one has slightly countersunk holes which could help depending on collar thickness). Each rivet is inserted first through the a hole in the collar, then through the Airtag holder, and then you'll want to use an M3 washer as a backer over the rivet to spread the load out between the rivet and Airtag holder.
