Very nice design and thanks for adding step files! I remixed it to store 9 pencils because we have an 18 pack of pencils at home.
The only this I noticed is that you didn't implement any tolerances for the lid and it made it impossible to fit it. I added a 0.07mm offset to the inner lid in my remix to overcome this and a small bump at the end of the lid to create some friction.
Very nice. I used the V2 files and added text on the cover using negative volume.
It didn't slide perfectly at first, but after a few (dozen) tries, it's fine!

Fit the pencils well. The lit didn't fit though, not enough tolerances for my Ender 3. My printer can handle 0.3 mm tolerance, and it seemed these STLs didn't have that.
Oh, and the toddler sat on it, so one end broke off, not the STLs fault. (edited)
@_hxr I was looking to reprint this in a rainbow pla. Can you share the source or step file so I can remix it and strengthen the sides?
