A storage tray for the ever popular Honeycomb Storage Wall system.
This is now new and improved. MK2 bins and dividers include these enhancements:
I designed this tray for my own purposes, for the storage and display of various EDC gadgets: Pocketknives, flashlights, pens, tools, and similar. It could also be used for storage of nuts and bolts, batteries, parts, or anything else that will fit within its inner dimensions. Maybe it will work for your purposes, too.
Dividers can be placed in any of 30 positions for neat and orderly placement of stored objects. A built in 10 degree angle presents the contents to you in an attractive and hopefully accessible manner.
This tray is precisely 7 hexagons wide on the Honeycomb Wall grid, and requires four of the M5 screw inserts to mount, engaging four of the hexes across this width in a horizontal row. I recommend a countersunk head M5 screw with 10mm length and a nut. Using fewer mounts or screws is not recommended due to the potential to put a lot of weight in it when it's filled to capacity with… hardware. You can stack multiple trays on top of each other with as little as 2 hexes between them vertically and still see and access the contents fairly easily.
Or, you can forget the Honeycomb grid entirely and simply screw the tray to any suitable surface with four #8 or #10 wood screws.
