Welcome to MotorGo. Our mission is to make advanced robotics simple and accessible to the world.

As part of that mission, we are building an open source Standard Content Library for our 3-D printable designs, so you can focus more on your idea and worry less about the details.

About Scout

Scout is a self-balancing robot. This variation is built with two PTZ 2804 gimbal motors. This cute, quirky, and customizable design will enable you to build a sophisticated self-balancing robot with ease. Take your tinkering to the next level with Scout!

Combine these prints with the MotorGo Ecosystem (affordable PCBs, Arduino software package, and free printable downloads) to build this self-balancing robot yourself.

Scout is a great way to learn about motor control and robotics. With an intuitive software package and helpful documentation, the MotorGo handles the esoteric details so you can focus on the priorities in your project - making Scout balance.

We are launching a Kickstarter soon. See our teaser video here.

The PTZ 2804 gimbal motor is a great budget option for small robotics projects. You can find it for purchase online.

This model requires M2 heat-set insert in the motor mount and M3 heat set inserts in the receiver. These can be found here (M2) and here (M3). The magnet holder is designed for a 3mm OD, 6mm length diametrically magnetized magnet.

Note on printing the main body

Using Bambu Carbon X1 printer, we were able to achieve good print quality by auto-orienting the main body to lay flat and using automatic tree supports from the build plate only. It printed well on both the low temp PLA plate and the textured PEI plate.

Motor, magnet, and encoder are not included with this model.
