PDF

A customizable, mirrorable holder that will snap on to your fan, more or less regardless of its size. You can adjust the the following parameters:

  • fan's mount hole spacing in both the X axis
  • fan's mount hole spacing in both the Y axis
  • diameter of the mount holes
  • width of the square frame of the fan assembly
  • thickness of the frame of the fan assembly
  • thickness of the holder itself
  • length of the snap-on connectors for the fan

One unit uses two mount holes on the fan. You can print two units to use on both sides of the fan and attach legs, making yourself a self-standing fan that you can use, for example, to blow soldering fumes elsewhere.

You can skip using the leg and mount the fan using the provided mount hole to a computer case in an orientation perpendicular to the fan manufacturer's intent.

Two legs are provided: one with a snap-on connector and one with a hole for a screw mount. If you print the snap-on connector, use an SLA printer, use a brim, print horizontally, or enjoy a failed print. The snap-on connector will not come out nice at the end of a tall leg because the leg will shake as the print head moves.

The photo of the two-legged build is for illustration purposes only: it is based on an earlier iteration of the model, and the mount holes on the fan holder are not the same shape or in the same place as in this model.

Do not remove the fan too many times or too carelessly from the snap-on connectors. You will not break the connectors. You will break the fan.
