Soldering is a many hands' job. Things to hold include:

  • A soldering iron
  • The PCB
  • A component/tweezers
  • Solder wire

That is usually at least one thing too many for creatures that have on average less than two hands. Thus I bring you a system to place the solder wire right on the soldering iron. It has a little spool to store the wire and a tube to bring the solder to the hot end. The solder wire is actuated using the index finger.

A solder wire can be slippery so use a latex/adherence finger glove thingy to help with adherence. You want that anyway if you are working with leaded solder.

This model require two small zip-ties to attache to your soldering iron. The pipe might need to be reworked to fit your soldering iron.
