The drive pulley cap is a part of the Tefifon that is sometimes cracked. Although I didn't need one, I wanted to prove that a replacement part could be made using 3D printing techniques. So I designed this replacement part.
Original: ![]() | Replacement part: ![]() |
The part is printed in light ivory PLA to match the color of the original part as good as possible. It prints without support. The 3mf and gcode files are provided for download as well as the stl file. I opted for printing in variable layer height from 0.05mm up to 0.25mm.
To mimic the material of the original as closely as possible, the printed part must be carefully sanded with emery paper and then coated with a thin layer of glossy paint. The download files also contain a simple support for sanding and varnishing - just use M3 x 5…6mm screws to attach it to the cap:

I am using glossy polyurethan varnish. Don't forget to sand the part after the first coat has dried. I applied multiple thin coats to get a perfect result. I am very happy with how it turns out.
The part has been designed using OpenSCAD. I have provided the source code for download.
