Update: I have found that it does remove almost all in cabinet dust and smoke.  But I do need to clean the filter about every 20 hours of use.  Couple minutes with the compressor and it's good for another 20 hours.

Designed to filter out dust and smoke particles.  It is not an exhaust system but intended to be an in cabinet method of removing dust and smoke particles.

In use during cut thru of 5mm ply by 10w laser a faint oder is noticeable. No other dust or fume extractor inuse.

It is designed to use a standard DeWalt HEPA canister for a 6 - 16 gallon shop vac.

The fan is a standard 4" 12v DC computer fan with a 105 CFM capacity.

I used the following:

Wathai 120x120x25mm 120mm 12V 0.45A 2Pin DC Brushless Cooling Fan 105CFM $10.99

DXVC6914 HEPA High Efficiency Cartridge Filter Fit for Dewalt Regular 6-16 Gallon Wet/Dry Vacuum Cleaners $23.99

There are 2 versions. One prints the mount in 2 pieces that are glued together and glued to the top of the filter with RTV.

The second is a one piece mount that can be attached to the top of the filter with RTV.

The fan is attached by tapping the holes in the mount for the fan grill screws.  There isn't enough room to use nuts on the inside of the mount. I used a 8-36 NF tap and #30 drill. It's a near identical match to the meteric thread of the supplied grill mount screws.
