It's always a struggle to keep your heat inserts straight and also do positioning, aligning and pushing all with just two hands.
Now you can just use your already existing drill press for firm pressure application and straight movement.
The adapter is designed for this cheap amazon soldering iron that I only use for heat inserts.
The inner diameter of the adapter has a slight taper (18,3 mm to 17,7 mm) to firmly sit around the soldering iron where normally your hand would be.
The outer diameter is 45 mm.
I's printed as two separate parts for easy assembly, the lip at the top helps to hold the pieces while tightening the collar of the drill press.
height | outer diameter | inner diameter |
37 mm | 49 mm | 18,3 mm to 17,7 mm |
Print two halves, then insert the soldering iron and place it in your drill press, even just a bit of tightening of the collar should be enough to hold it in place
